D·Z·O ("we", "our", or "the app") is a restaurant deals finder that helps you discover dining specials near you. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Location Data

When you grant permission, we access your device's location to find deals near you. Your GPS coordinates are sent to our server to query nearby restaurants and deals. We do not store your precise location permanently. If you decline location access, you can manually search for a city instead.

Search & Filter Preferences

We store your chosen city (if you select one manually) on your device using local storage. Filter preferences (meal type, distance, deal type) are kept in your app session and are not sent to our servers.

Usage Data

We may collect basic usage information such as:

• Pages and screens viewed
• Search queries (city names)
• Filter selections
• Error reports (such as location error codes) to improve the app

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require you to create an account
• We do not collect your name, email, or phone number
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising
• We do not track you across other apps or websites

How We Use Your Information

• To show you restaurant deals near your location
• To improve the accuracy and relevance of deal results
• To diagnose and fix technical issues

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Places API — to look up restaurant information, photos, and locations
• Anthropic Claude AI — to extract and classify deal information from restaurant data (no personal user data is sent to AI services)

Data Storage & Security

Deal and restaurant data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit. We use HTTPS for all communications. Your manually chosen city preference is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers beyond the initial search.

Cookies

The app does not use tracking cookies. Session data is stored locally on your device.

Children's Privacy

D·Z·O is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your Choices

• Location: You can deny location permission at any time through your browser or device settings. The app will still work — you can search for a city manually.
• Data deletion: Since we don't collect personal accounts, there is no personal data to delete. Clear your browser/app storage to remove local preferences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
